A source claims that Major League Baseball plans to suspend or fine umpire Joe West. West, one of baseball's most tenured umpires, solicited reporters this week to talk about the controversy he created in April when he called the Yankees and Red Sox "pathetic and embarrassing" because of their long game times. MLB reprimanded West during a phone conversation Thursday.
