Carlos Delgado donned a No. 25 Puerto Rico jersey. But the first baseman did not face the Mets in yesterday's World Baseball Classic tuneup because of tendinitis in his left elbow - discomfort similar to what he experienced last year, when he missed the Marlins' first nine Grapefruit League games and spent early August on the disabled list.
Delgado downplayed the injury, which others labeled tennis elbow, and indicated it's in a slightly different location than last year. He vowed not to risk injury by rushing to play in the World Baseball Classic.
