Carl Crawford said he's made no decisions about his future with the Rays, much less that of teammate Carlos Pena, and was misquoted in an upcoming Sports Illustrated story: "Nothing's changed, no decisions, I don't know what Carlos is doing,'' Crawford said.
The SI story, on Pena's rise to prominence by Ben Reiter, includes this passage:
"This core group is going to still be together, me and Carlos are the only two guys that are going to be leaving,? notes Crawford, perhaps giving away more than he should. ?We definitely feel like this is a special year for us, and we would like to do something good.?
Crawford explained Tuesday he was answered a question posed by Reiter: ""That was more so him saying everything that he wanted me to say and trying to say I said it; I never said those words. What's sad is he came up and approached me like a nice guy and stuff and then he wrote that stuff so that really irritates me a little bit.''
Pena also said Tuesday he has made no decisions about his future.
