Reliever Brian Bruney has lost to the Nationals in arbitration. He was awarded $1.5 million Wednesday instead of his request for $1.85 million. Bruney, who turned 28 Wednesday, was 5-0 with a 3.92 ERA in 44 regular-season appearances for the Yankees last season when he earned $1.25 million.
