The Mets agreed to a one-year deal with utilityman Fernando Tatis on Thursday, effectively ending the chances of a return for Carlos Delgado.
The contract will become official following a physical.
Tatis will reportedly make less than the $1.7 million he earned in 2009, but incentives could bring him close to the number.
