A baseball source confirmed a report on Tuesdsay that indicated Bengie Molina has backed off the three-year deal he was seeking from the Mets and is now amenable to a two-year contract. Molina could sign with the Mets by the end of the week, according to a published report. ESPN Insider says, "If the negotiations continue to progress, ... the Mets could possibly sign him in the next 48 to 72 hours."
