According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Johnny Damon has told people he would prefer to play in Atlanta for Bobby Cox and the Braves. Damon cites Cox and the fact that the Braves train near his Orlando home as his reasons. Scott Boras, Damon's agent, is on record saying that he wants Damon signed for three years around $13 million per year. If he signs with Atlanta, it wouldn't be near that price. O'Brien expects the Braves would offer something in the $7-8 million range for just two seasons.
