The Athletics and free-agent pitcher Justin Duchscherer have agreed in principle on a one-year deal, a source told ESPN.com. According to the source, the deal could be worth about $5.5 million if Duchscherer hits all of his incentives. The agreement won't be official until Duchscherer passes a physical exam, which isn't expected to take place until after Christmas. Duchscherer went 10-8 with a 2.54 ERA for the A's in 2008.
