The Braves have agreed to a one-year, $2.55 million contract with outfielder Matt Diaz.
Atlanta also decided on Saturday to let second baseman Kelly Johnson go by failing to offer him a contract for 2010.
Diaz hit .313 with 13 homers and 58 RBIs last season, when he made $1,237,500.
Johnson, who batted .224 eight homers and 29 RBIs, lost his starting job to Martin Prado.
