Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain was booed by fans in the Bronx on Wednesday night following another rough outing.
Chamberlain lasted just 3 2/3 innings against the Royals as New York lost 4-3, ending their seven-game win streak.
"I understand what I've done and the situation I've put myself in," Chamberlain told the Associated Press.
He allowed three runs, seven hits and four walks, throwing just 52 of 91 pitches for strikes.
Chamberlain's spot in the team's playoff rotation could be in jeopardy due to his struggles.
"It was not a good start," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
