If the Twins force a playoff in the American League Central, they'll force the NFL's Packers and Vikings to make other plans.
Should the Twins finish the regular season tied with the Tigers, there will be a one-game playoff on Oct. 5 at the Metrodome.
The Vikings are scheduled to host the Packers that night on Monday Night Football.
"The NFL is fully aware of it," Major League Baseball's senior vice president for scheduling and club relations Kate Feeney told the Star Tribune. "That's one of the reasons they schedule those as intradivision games, so they can flip [home sites] if they need to."
The Vikings are scheduled to play at Green Bay on Nov. 1, so the teams could trade home dates.
