A portrait of Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda will soon be unveiled at the Smithsonian Institution.
The Hall of Fame manager will have his portrait hung in the museum's National Portrait Gallery on Sept. 22, Lasorda's 82nd birthday.
"I am proud and honored by this very special recognition," Lasorda said in a statement. "I have been honored many times in the past, and am appreciative of them all, but to be included in the National Portrait Gallery is very special, and very humbling."
The portrait, painted by Everett Raymond Kinstler, is part of the Smithsonian's collection of baseball-related art.
