Jake Peavy's debut with the White Sox has been pushed back a bit, and he could take the hill on Sept. 3 against the Cubs.
Peavy threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, and striking out five on Friday night.
"Everyone was raving, but Peavy was happy, but he wasn't raving to me," pitching coach Don Cooper said Friday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "We text each other back and forth, and he's happy with what he did, he's starting to feel better, but it's starting to look like he's going to need at least two more [starts] no matter how you shake it out. It's par for the course for him to feel so good because he hasn't been on the mound on a regular basis."
