Sergio Mitre will make his next start for the Yankees.
New York lost for the first time in eight games on Monday night.
"Three mistakes," Mitre said, according to the New York Times. "Two home runs and the ball to second base. That's mainly what cost me the game right there, the comebacker."
Mitre has a 7.04 ERA for the Yankees in five starts. He threw wide of Robinson Cano at second base on Monday night, an error that robbed New York of a double play and led to a three-run inning for Toronto.
"If Serge makes a good feed, he gives up two runs in five innings and probably goes out for the sixth," manager Joe Girardi said. "But a couple of times, he's thrown the ball away in that situation. His ball has a ton of run."
Yankees Will Keep Mitre In Rotation
