FOX analyst and former major-leaguer Tim McCarver disagrees with the Yankees' decision to restrict Joba Chamberlain's innings.
The team's front office has decided to limit Chamberlain to 60 more innings this season, including his appearance against the Red Sox on Thursday.
He had recorded 110 2/3 innings ahead of the start against Boston.
"They want to limit him to somewhere between 140-170 innings. You are fighting for a division, you are fighting for a pennant here -- what are you taking about? Show me one doctor who has come up with conclusive evidence that a pitcher who is 24-years-old should throw only 140-170 innings. If he throws 190, what's going to happen is his arm going to fall off? What's the gage? It drives me up a wall," McCarver told the New York Post.
