The Pirates defeated the Cubs 3-0 on Tuesday night just a few hours after trading away a few more of their players.
Pittsburgh traded outfielders Nyjer Morgan, Eric Hinske and reliever Sean Burnett on Tuesday, leaving them with just 23 players in uniform against Chicago.
A number of players made their displeasure known when the club traded Nate McLouth a few weeks ago.
"We lost [some] great guys on the field and in the clubhouse. That's the business of baseball," Freddy Sanchez said. "We've got to keep playing no matter what happens."
