Commissioner Bud Selig believes that there is still room for the MLB Draft to grow. On Tuesday, the league held it's First-Year Player Draft in prime time, broadcast on the MLB Network, something Selig thinks will help things progress. "Years ago, you didn't even announce the picks until three days later," Selig said. "We can do so much more, and tonight was a huge move in the right direction." The MLB Network launched on Jan. 1, and the commissioner already believes that improvements have been made. "It's a great day for the network," Selig said. "In a short period of time, six months, they've done a lot" Selig was then asked what he felt about this year's draft class. "Well, look it's too early to tell," he said. "Time will tell. You're always optimistic on draft day."
