Indians general manager Mark Shapiro would not comment on Saturday about the lack of contract extension negotiations with pitcher Cliff Lee. "Over the course of spring training, we meet with a number of player agents," Shapiro said. "Consistent with that, we talked with Darek Braunecker, who represents Cliff. "Other than that, there's really nothing for me to say. We never talk about negotiations." Lee, who took home the AL's Cy Young award in 2008, said earlier in the week that Cleveland won't discuss an extension with him because of tough economic conditions.
