Former Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams made his Winter League debut on Monday, going 1-for-3 with a strikeout. Williams, 40, has made it known that he would like to play for his native Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic. "The team took him in immediately since Bernie started training with us," Gigantes de Carolina Manager Jose Oquendo said. "They recognize Bernie as a legend. It's good to see him in uniform." Williams batted second in the lineup as the team's designated hitter.
