Padres starting pitcher Chris Young is out indefinitely with multiple fractures in his face after getting hit with a line drive off the bat of Albert Pujols on Wednesday, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. "I knew that it hit me in the face and there was blood and I thought if Hutch [Todd Hutcheson, the team's trainer] could get the blood stopped I'd jump back on the mound and try to keep going," Young said. "But I realized that we couldn't get the bleeding stopped and we'd have to go inside so I knew I was out of the game, and once we got inside it kept coming and I knew I'd have to go to the hospital," the pitcher added. Young has multiple fractures of his nasal bone and other facial bones, a small crack in his skull and a deviated septum. "The severity of it I didn't really realize until we probably got to the hospital and they did the CT scan and saw the fractures and stuff," said Young. He will miss at least two weeks of action.
