David Wright claims that he wasn't ripping his teammates in a recent statement made on the team's website, according to The New York Daily News. "Losing like this, I hope, would ruin their nights," Wright told Mets.com after the team's loss on Wednesday night. Wright acknowledged the comments on Thursday, telling the Daily News, "I can't speak for anybody else. I take it pretty hard. I didn't say anything about anybody else. I take it hard, and I think other guys take it hard, as well." "It's one thing to go out there and not have the personnel and to just not be as talented as other teams, but I don't think that's the case," Wright said yesterday. "We're just as talented as any other team out there in the National League. We're just not getting the job done. We're just playing mediocre baseball, and that's not okay with me," Wright said after the team was swept at the hands of the rival Braves.
