Willie Randolph made it sound like Steve Trachsel's option would be picked up for 2006. Braden Looper, scheduled to have surgery today, figures to have his option declined, though the Mets might attempt to re-sign him as a setup man. Doug Mientkiewicz won't have his option picked up. Roberto Hernandez and Marlon Anderson, both free agents, hope to re-sign. "I definitely think we got as much as we could out of this team, especially with the injuries," Randolph said. "Think about it. Carlos didn't have the year he was supposed to have. We didn't have a right fielder or a first baseman, a stable situation at the catcher's spot and second base. So when you think about this season, I think those guys deserve a lot of credit for what they did this year. ... We just had a certain toughness as a team that carried us through a lot. We definitely got the most out of our group."
