Just ten days after having surgery for thyroid-cancer Diamondbacks' pitcher Doug Davis has returned to the team, according to the Arizona Republic. He played catch with teammates for the first time since having surgery on Friday and did so on Saturday as well. "I feel great," Davis told reporters on Saturday. He would like to make his return to the team's active roster on May 9, but he knows that he won't be prepared to pitch until later on. He will have a blood test on Tuesday and is hoping to be ready to take a radioactive iodine pill that will help kill any remaining cancer cells in his body.
