* Note: Players in bold are my picks to outperform their ADPs.

Second base has become a deeper position over the last few seasons, also benefiting from an influx of young talent.

Anthony Rendon and Jose Altuve were top bust-out players last season, and there was nothing fluky about their success.

As you can see, I’m a bit higher on Kolton Wong than most, and expect that he will take the next step.

As for two players who I believe will be overdrafted, Dee Gordon and Josh Harrison sit atop the list. Gordon had a huge dropoff in the second half last season, as his BABIP was not sustainable (at least for his skillset). He will be great with stolen bases, but look for him to come back down to earth. Harrison faces the same issue with respect to an unsustainable BABIP, so look elsewhere.

The delta between tier 1 and the next level is significant, so for strategy purposes, either grab a tier 1 guy or wait to fill your second base position later on (Kolton Wong or a tier 3 player).
