By Christopher Reina The Opsera is a statistic I created in order to objectively rank teams by how well they hit (OPS) and pitch (ERA). In order to determine a team's Opsera, I take their OPS, multiply that number by 10 to move the decimal point over one place to the right and then subtract the team's ERA from that number. Amongst the Opsera leaders all season, the Rays have finally taken over the top slot from the Yankees, who fell to number four this week. 1. Tampa Bay Rays: 4.70 2. St. Louis Cardinals: 4.29 3. Philadelphia Phillies: 4.20 4. New York Yankees: 4.15 5. San Diego Padres: 3.92 6. Minnesota Twins: 3.83 7. San Francisco Giants: 3.73 8. Colorado Rockies: 3.60 9. Detroit Tigers: 3.52 10. Toronto Blue Jays: 3.48 11. Florida Marlins: 3.45 12. Los Angeles Dodgers: 3.41 13. Texas Rangers: 3.36 14. Atlanta Braves: 3.32 15. Boston Red Sox: 3.31 16. Chicago Cubs: 3.31 17. New York Mets: 3.21 18. Washington Nationals: 3.08 19. Cincinnati Reds: 3.06 20. Oakland Athletics: 2.87 21. Seattle Mariners: 2.71 22. Kansas City Royals: 2.69 23. Chicago White Sox: 2.54 24.
