 Win-loss records and run differentials certainly are the ultimate indicator of true success, but they can be flukish and over time the OPS and ERA should fall in line with the actual story and objectively identify good, bad and average teams. I have named this system Opsera, which sounds like a real word and doesn't leave much to the imagination in the way of meaning. It is extremely simple; I take each team's total OPS, move the decimal point one place to the right and then just subtract their respective ERAs.
