By Darryl Reina Why does everyone in and around baseball, other than MLB Managers, know that our #1 ranked player, Albert Pujols, is the best hitter in the game? Why don't Managers walk Pujols on a more consistent basis? Our congratulations to (#19) Pedro Martinez, 34 and still slender, for his 200th win over the Braves, and to Greg Maddux (HM) who is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1994. This Week (Last Week) 1.(1.) Albert Pujols: Pujols is hitting .364, with 10 HR's for the Cardinals. When will Managers begin walking this guy? Tomorrow? 2.(2.) Alex Rodriquez: The Yankee 3B continues to put up consistent numbers despite New York's up-and-down .500 performance. 3.(3.) David Ortiz: The Red Sox DH has 6 HR's and is hitting .327. A big reason the Red Sox are 9-4. 4.(5.) Vladamir Guerrero: The Angels OF is off to an outstanding .429 start. 5.(6.) Derrek Lee: D-Lee is hitting .316 for the Cubs. 6.(4.) Mark Teixeira: Continues to produce those clutch hits for the Rangers. 7.(11.) David Wright: The hot Mets are being led at the plate by the .391 hitting Wright. 8.(13.) Andruw Jones: A. Jones continues to hit the long ball for the Braves. 9.(7.) Johan Santana: A quality pitcher with a bright future. 10.(8.) Miquel Tejada: The solid Oriole SS is hitting .357. 11.(12.)
