The Kansas City Royals completed an opening sweep of the Detroit Tigers on Thursday with a 4-1 win in Motown, according to the Associated Press.
The Tigers storied offense managed just five runs in the series, with just one run coming in the final twenty-one innings.
"We stunk," Tigers' Manager Jim Leyland said. "We look like we're just going up there and giving at-bats away without any purpose. The manager's responsible for the preparation and the performance of the club, and right now, we don't look very prepared."
