In light of Albert Pujols on-going elbow issues, Cardinals' Manager Tony La Russa plans to rest his first-baseman more this season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
He suggested on Thursday morning that Pujols will receive "two to three games" off a month.
"There is no way that I would eliminate him from any conversation about it," La Russa said. "If the doctors, the trainers, and myself looked at it and we think it was a good day coming up (to take off) and he said, 'I feel great,' I would definitely respect his input into that decision."
"I also know that he believes periodic rest would be good for him. So I don't think he's going to fight it," he added.
