Former Major Leaguer and current ESPN analyst Rick Sutcliffe has been diagnosed with colon cancer, according to ESPN.com.
He was diagnosed after a routine test and will undergo chemotherapy and surgery over the next few months. The cancer is considered to be of the manageable and a curable variety.
"Rick is an integral member of our baseball team, and we wish him a full recovery," ESPN Vice-President Tim Scanlan said in a statement. "We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers."
