Dodgers' third base prospect Andy LaRoche will undergo surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament suffered in Friday?s game against the Cardinals, according to a report on MLB.com. The 24-year-old is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks following surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament off the base of his right thumb. He was attempting to catch a pickoff throw when the ball glanced off D?Angelo Jimenez and hit LaRoche in the throwing hand.
