Felix Hernandez signed a one-year deal with the Mariners this past weekend, but the club is interested in inking their young starter to a long-term deal.
A three-year deal would erase Hernandez's eligibility for the next three years of salary arbitration. A four-year deal would erase the first year of free agency as well.
Hernandez had a season FIC of 215 in 2007 and 'deserved' a salary of $10.3 million, giving him a Reina Value of +2,360%.
