There is a good chance that the Milwaukee Brewers will renew the contract of Prince Fielder for 2008 without an agreement being reached for the second-straight year, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "There's really no negotiating with zero- to three-year players," GM Doug Melvin explained to the Journal-Sentinel. "Everybody starts with the same base salary, then you get so many points for plate appearances. Then, if you become rookie of the year, (earn) a Silver Slugger, if you place in the MVP voting, you get a bonus. So it's an incentive-laden deal." RealGM Note: Fielder had a season FIC of 285 in 2007, which was 11th in all of baseball. He 'deserved' a salary of $14.585 million while actually making just $415,000, giving him an incredible Reina Value of +3,514%. Click here to view the Reina Value for 2007
