Shannon Stewart's left shoulder causes him so much pain the outfielder is unlikely to play again this season for the Twins. Stewart met with manager Ron Gardenhire before Tuesday night's game at Oakland and they decided the left fielder won't play again in 2005 unless Stewart decides his shoulder improves enough that he wants to test it again in a game. "I'm not ruling it out, but I'd rather be all right for next year," Stewart said. "I'll be ready to get this year over. ... I've been beat up this year. It's been a tough year. I got hit in the elbow, I hurt my wrist. As soon as I started swinging the bat well, I hit the wall. I really never got into a good groove. I've been on the DL with injuries and felt a lot better than I have this year."
