Paul Byrd pitched seven shutout innings and remained perfect in five career decisions against Cleveland, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-1 victory over the Indians on Monday night. Garret Anderson drove in two runs and Vladimir Guerrero knocked in the other. Scott Shields pitched a perfect ninth since the Angels were without Francisco Rodriguez who had an MRI exam on his forearm, which was negative, but he is to be re-examined on Thursday by Dr. Lewis Yocum, the Angels' team physician.
