The Braves agreed to a one-year contract with Matt Diaz on Friday, avoiding arbitration. Financial terms were not disclosed. Diaz, 29, batted .338 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI in 135 games last season. Diaz has hit .320 with 21 home runs and 89 RBI in parts of five seasons with Tampa Bay, Kansas City, and Atlanta. The signing leaves righthander Rafael Soriano as the lone arbitration-eligible player yet to sign. The Braves also announced Friday that infielder Omar Infante had surgery to repair broken left hand.
