Outfielder Vladimir Guerrero left in the sixth inning of Thursday's night's 8-6 loss to the Tigers because of a jammed left shoulder. Last year's AL MVP hurt himself trying to make a diving catch of Vance Wilson's double. It's the same shoulder he dislocated on a slide home against the Dodgers in May, but manager Mike Scioscia told The Los Angeles Times that the injury isn't as serious as the last time, when Guerrero missed three weeks. Still, the defending West champion Angels are being cautious with the most-feared hitter in their lineup. "He's day-to-day; we're not going to play him if there's a risk of injury and [missing] substantial time," Scioscia told the newspaper. "If the lead shoulder is not impacting his swing and he's not at a risk of injury, he'll play."
