The Cardinals and Toronto finalized an exchange of All-Star third basemen Monday, sending Gold Glove winner Scott Rolen north for the slugger Troy Glaus. The trade leaves Albert Pujols as the only remaining member of the vaunted MV3 and the leader of a whittled core. Jim Edmonds and Rolen have been traded this winter; World Series' MVP David Eckstein left via free agency. "I think it is going to be a good move for both clubs," Eckstein said Monday. "St. Louis was looking for someone to back Albert up, that power bat, and Troy definitely fits that. And this will be a good thing for Scott. We know the situation with Scott, and this is his fresh start."
