The San Diego Padres announced today that the club has offered arbitration to outfielder Mike Cameron and catcher Michael Barrett. In addition, the club has declined to offer arbitration to outfielder Milton Bradley. Executive Vice President/General Manager Kevin Towers made the announcement. The deadline for players to accept the club's arbitration is Friday, Dec. 7. If a player accepts the offer, he is considered a signed player for the 2008 season with the salary to be determined. If the player rejects the offer, there will be no restriction on the Padres' ability to subsequently sign the free-agent player to either a Major League or Minor League contract.
