Barry Bonds will rejoin the team in Los Angeles on Monday and will conduct daily workouts, a team spokesman said. General manager Brian Sabean, who spoke Thursday with Bonds' agent, supervising physician and trainer, said Bonds will be evaluated by the doctor after each workout to determine what he can do next. In his latest Web site entry, Bonds amplified on the news he has begun taking batting practice in Los Angeles. He wrote he swatted about 200 pitches from John Yandle, his regular BP pitcher in San Francisco, and "worked up a good sweat, and I'd have to admit I was satisfied with the results." Bonds doused speculation he might be activated by Monday, saying, "There are still a few things I need to work on before coming back, like baserunning, to see how my knee responds, as well as game-situation drills.
