A little more than a month after being waived by Baltimore, James Baldwin was claimed off waivers from the Texas Rangers by the Orioles on Monday. The 34-year-old righthander began the season in the Orioles' organization with Class AAA Ottawa of the International League. Baldwin had his contract purchased by Baltimore on May 21 and posted a 1.61 ERA in 12 relief appearances before being designated for assignment on July 18. The Rangers claimed Baldwin three days later. He made just eight appearances with Texas, going 0-2 with a 5.19 ERA, before being designated for assignment last Tuesday.
