Cubs president Andy MacPhail seemed to hint Sunday that contract extensions for general manager Jim Hendry and manager Dusty Baker could be addressed during spring training next year. Both men will be entering the final year of their current deals. MacPhail also emphasized that the organization is satisfied with the jobs being done by Hendry and Baker. That flies in the face of unfounded rumors that Baker soon will be on his way out of Chicago. "I am very content with Jim, and I know he is very content with Dusty,'' MacPhail said. "I'm confident that we are going to put it together. Jim is the last guy in America that's going to want to talk about it, but I'm sure it's something that, not unlike a player, when you get into spring training or so, it might be something you discuss.''
