The Astros appear set to begin interviewing candidates for their vacant general manager's position as early as Thursday, and a few names have started to circulate, including Philadelphia Phillies assistant general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. and former Los Angeles Dodgers GM Dan Evans. Reached at his home in Temple, Astros owner Drayton McLane didn't deny that interviews were set for Thursday. He said he would have more details after speaking with president of baseball operations Tal Smith today.
