The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have agreed to a six-year contract with Vanderbilt pitcher David Price, the top overall pick in this year's draft, worth a guaranteed $8.5 million, ESPN Scouts Inc.'s Keith Law has learned. The native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, received a major-league contract. David Price was the first left-hander taken with the No. 1 overall pick since 1991. The 21-year-old Price, who was the first left-handed pitcher taken No. 1 overall since the Yankees took Brien Taylor first in 1991, won the prestigious Golden Spikes Award as the top college player in the country in 2007. He also was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year and the SEC Athlete of the Year, and won the fourth annual Brooks Wallace Award, also given to the nation's top college baseball player.
