Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio said Friday night there is room in his team's budget to acquire help before the July 31 trade deadline if the right deal comes along. "We're willing to spend money," said Attanasio, in town for the weekend series against Barry Bonds and the San Francisco Giants. "But right now it's quiet. I talked to (general manager) Doug (Melvin), and he said he has to make more outgoing calls." Attanasio said the Brewers have no real holes to fill in their quest to fend off the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central race. He also said the club has no intention of trading one of their top young players to acquire veteran help. "One team called and said they liked (Yovani) Gallardo and (Ryan) Braun. We said, 'We like Gallardo and Braun, too,' " Attanasio said with a laugh.
