The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled OF Reed Johnson from his rehab assignment and activated him from the 60-day disabled list. OF Adam Lind has been optioned to Syracuse (AAA) of the International League.
Johnson, 30, was placed on the disabled list on April 13 (retro-active to April 12) with a herniated disk in his lower back. Surgery was performed on April 17th in St. Petersburg, Florida by spine specialist, Dr. Thomas Tolli. In his six game rehab at Dundein (A) and Syracuse (AAA), he batted .350 (7-20) with one home run and two RBI. The Riverside, CA native has appeared in seven games with Toronto this season, hitting .265 with one home run and seven RBI. He is currently on a six game hitting streak.
