Curt Schilling was scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday and placed on the disabled list due to soreness in his right shoulder that he attributed to tendinitis. According to MLB.com, Schilling will miss at least two starts after he goes on the disabled list on Friday, retroactive to Tuesday. Schilling left the team in Atlanta on Tuesday to return to Boston for a cortisone shot and an MRI exam. Results were negative, but Schilling was to remain in Boston for treatment; he will be re-examined by team physician Thomas Gill on Friday.
