According to one MLB team executive, the Mets would be "heavily involved" if the Cubs look to trade Carlos Zambrano. The 26-year-old righty is set to be a free agent after the season, and the Cubs could potentially deal him prior to the July 31 deadline. Zambrano, who got into a fight with Cubs catcher Michael Barrett last week, is 5-5 with a 5.62 ERA in 12 games this year for the Cubs. Last year he was 16-7 with a 3.41 ERA and 210 strikeouts. He threw over 200 innings in each of the last four years.
