The day after Kirk Saarloos failed to retire any of the seven batters he faced in Cincinnati's loss to Pittsburgh, the Reds optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Louisville and recalled left-hander Bobby Livingston. "I don't feel like I'm the problem," Saarloos said. "I think I've had three bad innings this year. I felt like, in the other 20 appearances, I was throwing the ball pretty (darn) good. Those three appearances are the bed I'm lying in." Saarloos, 0-4 with a 7.04 ERA, will work out of the Bats bullpen, manager Jerry Narron said.
