Astros rookie outfielder Hunter Pence and Diamondbacks righthander Jose Valverde were named co-NL Players of the Week on Monday. Pence hit a league leading .591 (13-for-22) with two home runs, five RBI and five runs scored. The 24-year-old posted a 1.091 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base mark over the six-game period. The Texas-born Pence dominated the Giants this past week, batting .727 (8-for-11) with two homers and four RBI during the three-game series.
